Mulled Apple Cranberry Sauce/Jam

When you combine tart vitamin C-rich cranberries with sweet and spicy Mulled Apple Cider you get not only a delicious sauce but one pack with health benefits!

The spices in mulled cider contains an array of healing spices including:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider

  • ¼ cup organic Mulling Spices (allspice, cloves, ginger, cinnamon)

  • 2 pounds fresh cranberries

  • 1 - 1&1/2 cups maple sugar (can use beet sugar or cane sugar)

  • Couple of pinches of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Wrap mulling spices in a cheese cloth.

  2. Bring apple juice and mulling spices up to a boil.

  3. Cover and simmer 20-25 minutes.

  4. Remove mulling spices.

  5. Add the cranberries and sugar, and bring back up to a boil.

  6. Lower heat to medium/low and cook 20 minutes or until most of the cranberries have popped.

  7. Whisk or mash the remaining cranberries.

  8. Taste it.

  9. If it's not sweet enough add more sugar.

  10. I like my cranberries a little tart so I use 1 cup sugar.

  11. This cranberry sauce can also be used as a jam to spread on your fave bread
